Overview

CustomHotKeys is a utility macro which provides your Blackbaud users with a keyboard shortcut to custom documentation you choose, whether it be a simple text file, a PDF, a spreadsheet, a web page or a complete Word user manual.

You can serve different files to standard users and those with Supervisor access. This is useful if you want Supervisors to be able to edit the content available to standard users.

And you can choose which function key to assign – from F1 to F12 (ensuring that the key isn't already assigned to a function within the Blackbaud application) – as well as which applications to use to open the selected files.

Lastly, CustomHotKeys is free*.

Supported File Types

CustomHotKeys supports the following file types as standard:

  • Rich Text Format (.rtf)
  • Adobe Acrobat Portable Document Format (.pdf)
  • Microsoft HTML Help (.chm)
  • Microsoft Word (.doc, .docx)
  • Microsoft Excel (.xls, .xlsx)
  • Microsoft XML Paper Specification (.xps)
  • HTML (.html, .htm)
  • Web pages (http, https prefix)
